Modern design for this new build property with our expert garden design
The garden design we produced for this stunning new build house in South Galway, Ireland. We went with a modern design throughout so it was in keeping with both the house interior and exterior. Providing continuity from inside to out is so important for the overall feel.
A white porcelain patio with black contrast border instantly draws the eye. Raised planters, rendered with the same finish as the house helps to keep the aesthetic flowing.
A firepit positioned with fixed seating to allow the view to be fully admired. Sofa seating area next to door with retractable cover provides a perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee.
Maintaining the view from the large sliding door in the living room was important for our clients as they love to sit inside and be able to look out.
By not building anything taller than the planters, and coupling this with small plants in the eyeline, we were able to maintain a clear view.
Raised double planters running the length of the side path allow for a seamless transition from what was once an uneven drop off the side of the path.
Using a limestone kerb for the long planters creates visual interest and contrast from the white, rendered planters.
A large planting area was added to the front garden to produce a visually appealing entrance to the property and also help to provide some privacy from the road.
Low maintenance and hardy plants were used here so attention could be maintained on the back garden throughout the year.
Included in this design was a full lighting plan, showing how your garden can come to life at night.
Why would you want to stop using such a beautiful space when it gets dark? With a flick of a switch, you can use your garden for as long as you want.
