A more traditional design in the countryside

A beautiful country house, blending a modern design with a traditional theme to stay in keeping with the house architecture. A cooking area, seating areas, fire pit and a garden room were all part of the design brief for this project.

A round firepit area, surrounded by foliage, creates a nice area with a sense of privacy. You can only see the firepit area as you are approaching from the path. A gas fire pit means that the garden room is not getting filled with smoke when the firepit is in use.

A small garden room with bi-fold doors, opening out onto a small patio terrace. This creates the perfect space to entertain guests and catch the evening sun. The firepit is situated just in front of the terrace area.

A fixed cooking area, incorporating; BBQ, pizza oven, cupboards and drawers is the perfect space to cook whilst entertaining guests outside. There is plenty of prep space available as well.

A patio area from the back door makes a lovely space to sit out and eat. This joins onto the decking area which wraps around to the front of the house. On the decking is a separate seating area for either eating or just relaxing.

Creating a garden with visual interest is important and using plants is a fantastic way to do this. Adding planting beds to otherwise quiet or dull areas of the garden is simple to do. Vertical sleepers cut to different lengths create a small retaining wall and the perfect backdrop for a planting space.
